seeing red

i had the most funnest day!!!  first the family and i went to a flea market in tulsa.  let's just say we weren't that impressed, and we won't be going back.  then we drove around tulsa looking for more flea markets.  the boys were getting hungry, so we stopped for lunch at Bueno (yum-o!). then we travelled on down admiral pl. until we found what we were looking for...a ginormous flea market.  no one wanted to get out in the cold and hunt for treasures (except me) so we just headed home.  these boxing gloves were the best things we found at the flea market.

daryl and the boys don't mind going treasure hunting with me, but they all prefer antique malls where everything is inside and it's not all crap.  most of the stuff we saw at the first flea market was just junk, and not the good kind of junk!

so i suggested that we go to muskogee to the antique mall there, but daryl said he didn't want to drag the boys through that because that would make all of us miserable.  but he said he would stay home with the boys so i could go.  i didn't even hesitate!  we pulled in the drive, i kicked them out of my car, and i was off to muskogee....by way of coweta.  i just had to see if that one store was open!  and it was!!!!!!!!

it was not at all what i expected.  it was mostly furniture, which is ok, but i will never be able to afford antique furniture.  so i don't really like to look at it!  there were also lots of doors and windows.  the owner of the store built lots of the stuff in there, so the place smelled like sawdust!  i kind of like that smell.

so i left there and headed for muskogee.  i went to a junk shop i've always wanted to go in to, but it turned out to be a disappointment.  it was full of stuff that looked like garage sale left-overs and it was over-priced!  not happy.

then i went across the highway to main street antiques.  i've been there a couple of times before.  that's where geeg and i bought that mongo jar of buttons back in december. although it was fun looking, i didn't find anything but an old card game there.  next i went next door to a place that claims to be an antique store, but it looks more like the junk store across the road! i don't know if you can read what the tag says in the picture i took in that store, so i'll just tell you:  "laugh if you must...marbles $3 each marble."  { what is it with marbles in antique stores? why are they so expensive? }

while i was in that store, i heard another customer ask if there were anymore antique stores in town, and i heard the lady say there were some on the other side of town on the same highway. out the door i went!

the first one was an antique furniture store, but it was very cool!  it even had old cars in it!

but the last one......wow!  it had all kinds of happy stuff in it!
i love this table and chair set!  but of course it was not in my price range!  i think i just like it because it's {red}.

this is my happiest purchase.....a red metal cart and an old red step stool!

seeing red

i knew that i had gotten a real treasure when the older lady who worked at the store said she had looked at the step stool and was going to buy it for herself!  too bad, so sad!  it's all mine!
