my family and i took advantage of the weather and went to the tulsa zoo! i absolutely love going to zoos. i think if i don't end up working at disneyworld when i retire that i'd like to be a docent at a zoo. i'm just fascinated by animals.
my favorite animals are the primates. it doesn't matter which kind it is. i just love watching them. i guess it's because they are so human-like. the two baby chimps at the tulsa zoo haven't grown as much as i thought they would since we were there in july.
even though primates are my favorite animal to see, overall the tropical rain forest is my favorite exhibit at the tulsa zoo. colby and i are both fascinated by the poisonous dart frogs. their colors are just amazing!
another critter i like to see is the sloth. you'd think that since they move so slowly that they'd be easy to spot, but they're not! they hide up in the trees most of the time. i've been to the tulsa zoo many times now and before today, i'd only seen the toenail of one of the sloths. but today 2 of them were laying in a tree being fed by one of the zookeepers! it was so awesome!
the majority of the animals were pretty laid back today. they were just laying around soaking up the warm sunshine.
