that's MY boy!

tonight was the first game of the post-season tournament.  i have to admit that i was NOT looking forward to MORE football games.  i was ready to be done.....until tonight.  spencer got to play a lot of defense tonight, and he tackled a guy behind the line of scrimmage at just the right time!

 the other team was way too close to getting a touchdown, and our defense held them!  {these pics are right before the amazing tackle and right after the amazing tackle.}

but the best part was after that tackle the announcer said, "and the tackle was made by number 89, spencer hayes."  that was the first time this whole season that spencer's name had been announced for making a play.  it was such an exciting moment for me!  i stood up in the middle of the crowd and yelled, "wooooo!!!"

i couldn't believe how proud i was to hear MY son's name.  it's not like he'd won the spelling bee or anything.  i even had tears in my eyes!  who knew football would have that effect on me!
they won their first tournament game 12-0.

so now i want them to keep going in the tournament.  i want them to win it all.

GO BA WHITE 4TH GRADE TIGERS!

Tell me when he has games, maybe we could come watch some time! Glad he did so well! Yay Spencer!! I missed you at church tonight, but it sounds like you had a good time! The preacher talked about worry! Man did I need to hear that. Seems like he is always teaching/preaching right to me!!

it was weird not being at church. the boys couldn't believe we weren't going!

the bad thing about this tournament is we don't know until the game ends when our next game will be. we just found out tonight after we won, that we'll play again tomorrow night at 8:30! that's too close to my bedtime! i know they'll have a game on saturday, win or lose, and possible two.

at least we'll play at the same field every time. it's at the old Union practice field behind Mathis Brothers.

don't feel bad. the preacher is usually preaching/teaching to me, too!
