but i am glad that my favorites are still in....danny, oil guy, and welder. it's too soon for me to know their names! so far i'm not all that impressed with the girls.

mom! we found a lobster outside!
colby and his little friend, caroline, found this "lobster" after school today! they were so excited! of course neither of them wanted to touch it, so spencer caught it with a cup and a pencil {he wouldn't touch it either!}

neither of the boys would touch it???? what's up with that?? i thought boys would touch or pick up just about anything. love that colby man called it a [lobster]. too too funny. hooray for older brother being so brave and capturing it in a cup. way to go to spence.
okay. clearly im an idiot. that's NOT a lobster? WHAT IS IT and why was it hanging out OUTSIDE of a glass CAGE?????? yikes. these things really just are out there? what the edited heck is that?

it's called a crawfish, nellie. although i prefer to call them crawdads. and yes, those things are really just out there crawling around. they live in muddy creeks and ponds. i used to catch them when i was a kid. i'd tie a little piece of raw bacon on a piece of string, and they'd jump right on!
in louisiana, and other places, they boil them will all kinds of spices, then pop off their little heads and suck out the insides!
