spa day for joey

joey got the royal treatment tonight!  we trimmed his wings, and then he got a bath.  none of this would have happened if he hadn't pulled his little stunt this morning!

just as we were getting ready to leave for school, spencer took joey out of his cage and brought him to my bathroom.  no big deal.  but joey is easily spooked by colby, and when colby said something to the bird, joey flew off landing on top of my curtain.  he was way too high for any of us to reach him, so spencer got the broom so joey could step up on that and we could get him down.  but when he stuck the pole up there, the bird flew on top of the armoire in our room.  so spencer poked him again to get him down, and this time he landed on the ceiling fan.  so i got the broom and tried to gently coax him onto the handle, but he flew away again!!!  thank goodness this time he flew smack into the wall and landed on the floor.  needless to say, it was time to trim joey's wings.

so daryl and i did that tonight.  i held him while daryl cut.  joey HATES to be held down!  he kept trying to bite me and was screeching in his pathetic little voice.  when it was all over, he crawled up on daryl's shoulder and would have nothing to do with me!  even after daryl and spencer bathed him and dried him with my hair dryer, he still wouldn't come to me!  dumb bird!
