too good to be true

tonight daryl and i went to a travel agency to hear a 60 minute presentation because we had won a free trip from the drawing daryl had entered at the home and garden show.  when they called, they promised it wasn't time share, and that we really had won a 3 day/2 night trip to an exciting location.  we knew all along there had to be a catch, so why did we go?   because there's that little BIG thing called hope that just keeps you going.  we were hoping that there really was a slim chance that this was a real deal, not a scam.  wrong!

they didn't lie, it wasn't time share....it was vacation packages!  you pay $10,000 for 18 one-week vacations to one of their luxury resorts.  you have your entire life to use or give these vacations away.  you only pay $340 in taxes once a year and a $99 commission fee when you called to set up each vacation.  i couldn't believe people were actually interested in this!!!!  you didn't have to buy one of these packages to get your 'free' trip, but daryl and i just couldn't stand to listen to anymore of their nonsense.  we got up and left in the middle of it, leaving our 'free' trip behind.  wow!

the pic of the day is of colby doing his homework tonight.  check out how he holds his pencil!  it drives me crazy!!!!
